Excursion
Are you tired? Need a rest, or maybe a pit stop to freshen up? Take advantage of excursions. These are opportunities to further your professional knowledge outside of the classroom by reading an article or watching a video. (refer to the list of excursion suggestions) During your excursion, you can complete an activity to earn more points! (each excursion is worth 1 point) Post a brief reflection of your excursion on Schoology to earn your point.
Travel Guide-Leadership
Are you a world traveler? Did you travel to a fun place? Would you recommend it to others? Share your travel experience with your fellow travelers! Become a travel guide by collaborating with peers across the district for more points!

D56 Tech Trek Basics
After submitting student evidence for a SAMR level, your building administrator will review your submission. Upon approval, you will earn the specified points and badge. Once you reach 125 or more points, you have the choice to redeem or to continue to accumulate for a prize of a greater value.
Your journey is complete once you have submitted student evidence for each area of SAMR on all 6 continents.
Game Specifications:
- There are 6 different continents.
- Each continent consists of tasks incorporating the 4 different levels of SAMR plus 2 bonus stops (Excursion and Leadership).
- You may complete each activity alone, with a partner, or with a team of travelers. Each player must have evidence of completion from their own classroom/students.
Your Journey
- You will travel in and out of each continent, exploring the levels of the SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition) model.
- Your goal is to earn points in each continent by completing the challenges at the various SAMR landmarks.
- Select a SAMR landmark from any continent. Your task is to provide student evidence of completion of each SAMR level. A list of SAMR activities is provided on the Tech Trek website for your reference.
- Once you have completed your activity, complete a submittal form and submit evidence of the SAMR activity to Schoology discussion threads to earn your points (see Schoology direction page).
- Throughout your journey, you will accumulate points to redeem at SAMR Mart for prizes. You may redeem your points at any time. 620 points is the maximum amount of points you can earn in the game. Refer to the point guide to see the list of fabulous prizes!

Points
- Each section of the SAMR model is worth a specific amount of points (See Rewards.)
- Keep track of your points with your game board badges (Schoology.)
- Administrators will review student evidence submissions.
- After administrator approval, you will receive a travel badge and earn the specified points.
- When you have accumulated at least 125 points, Dr. Pacatte will notify you via e-mail to redeem them at SAMR Mart.
- Building administrators will review and reward leadership tasks. (See the game map for suggestions)
- After finishing your leadership task, your administrator will reward you with an upgrade voucher for your trip. )
